Utställningen Electrohype 2006 presenterade
en rad relativt stillsamma arbeten som varierar från komplexa
installationer till visuell minimalism. Vissa konstverk arbetar
med sina egna processer medan andra är av refererande karaktär.
En sak alla verken har gemensamt är att de speglar hur
teknologin och de nya medierna påverkar vår estetik
och vårt förhållningssätt till konsten.
The exhibition Electrohype 2006 will present a
number of rather quiet artworks ranging from complex installations
to visual minimalism. Some artworks are running their own internal
processes while other works are commenting in their style and
expression. A common factor for all the works is that they are
mirroring the influence of technology and new media in our view
of esthetics and attitude toward the arts.
Nytt för detta år var att biennalen
visades i Lund. Organisationen Electrohype har tidigare anordnat
tre biennaler i Malmö, senast på Malmö Konsthall
under vintern 2004 – 2005.
A major change for this year of the biennial is
that it was presented in the city of Lund. Electrohype has previously
organized three biennials in Malmo, the last biennial was presented
in Malmo Konsthall during the winter of 2004 – 2005.
I tillägg till huvudutställningen visades
även utställningen PUBLIC - ELECTRONIC! med tema ”elektronisk
konst i det offentliga rummet” på Skissernas Museum
i Lund, ett museum med inriktning på offentlig konst.
Konstverken visades i dokumentationsform. Denna utställning
visades parallellt med utställningen på Lunds Konsthall.
In addition to the main exhibition we also presented
the exhibition PUBLIC-ELECTRONIC! with the topic “electronic
art in public space” at the Museum of Sketches in Lund,
a museum dedicated to public art. The artwork was presented
as documentations. This exhibition was presented during the
same period as the main exhibition.
Electrohype anordnade även två kväller
med elektronisk musik i samband med öppningen av biennalen.
Konserterna gjordes i samarbete med den danska organisationen
Komponent och Smålands nation i Lund. Datum 8 och
9 december.
Electrohype was also organizing
two evenings with electronic music during the opening weekend
for the biennial. The concerts where organized in cooperation
with the Danish organization Komponent och Smålands nation,
Lund. Dates for the concerts December 8th and 9th.
