Utställningen Utsnitt presenterade ett urval av de konstverk som visades i den uppmärksammade utställningen Electrohype 2004 i Malmö konsthall under perioden november 2004 till januari 2005. Utställningen Electrohype 2004 var den tredje nordiska biennalen för datorbaserad och högteknologisk konst. Utställningen sågs av 35 000 besökare och fick en rad bra recensioner. | The exhibition presented a selection of artworks that was shown in the exhibition that recently attracted much attention in Malmo Konsthall during the period November 2004 –– January 2005. The exhibition Electrohype 2004 was the third Nordic biennial for computer based and high technological art. The exhibition was seen by 35 000 visitors and received a number of good reviews. |

Malmö Kulturstöd valde nyligen att ge avslag på föreningens ansökan om verksamhetsstöd för 2005. Electrohype har vald att genomföra utställningen i Göteborg trots nerläggningen av föreningens aktiviteter, detta för att förhandlingar om utställningen var så pass långt komna innan Malmö Kulturstöd meddelade sitt beslut. Samtidigt är det att presentera ny experimentell konst i väletablerade konstinstitutioner så som Malmö Konsthall och Göteborgs Konstmuseum mycket viktigt i arbetet med att skapa acceptans för en ny konstgenre. Ett av föreningens mål är just att skapa möten mellan högteknologisk konst och konstintresserad publik. | Electrohype decided to do the Gothenburg exhibition even if we just recently decided to close down our activities. The negotiation process with Gothenburg was close to an end when we received the message that the Malmo City Art Council turned down our application. Not doing the exhibition would leave the Art Museum in a difficult situation and at the same time we this exhibition corresponds very well with Electrohypes profile; To advocate and promote computer based art and to present it to a broad audience. |
